Do you have control over your name on the web? Anyone can buy a URL with no questions asked. In fact, MattVanAlstyne.com was taken and I have no control over what the owner puts on the site. My identity could essentially be stolen!

Do you need a pop culture reference to make it relevant? Check out Sneaky Pete on Amazon. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 89% score… so its worth your time. It is a scary world out there and I would hate for someone to steal my identity.

So I took the plunge…if you are not sure what I am talking about try Googling the steps to locally host your own WordPress website. Six steps, but that’s if you know what you are doing. It has been a journey, but a very enlightening one.

It’s been fun learning and failing and then figuring it out. MatthewVanAlstyne.com is up and running. Excited to see what people think and glad I am in control of my name!
